Peter J. Gundermann
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 2003, Peter Gundermann has been with the Company since 1988. Mr. Gundermann has been a director of Astronics since 2001 and was appointed Chairman of the Board in June 2019. He holds a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Duke University.
Robert T. Brady
Lead Independent Director
Robert T. Brady was appointed a Director of the Company in 1990. He is the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Moog Inc., a publicly traded company that is a designer and manufacturer of high performance, precision motion and fluid controls and control systems for use in aerospace, defense, industrial and medical markets. Mr. Brady was Chief Executive Officer of Moog Inc. from 1988 to December 1, 2011, Chairman of the Board of Moog Inc. from 1996 until his retirement in January 2014, and a director of Moog Inc. from 1984 until January 2014. Prior to joining Moog in 1966, Mr. Brady served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Brady received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Jeffry D. Frisby
Jeff Frisby was appointed a Director of the Company in 2016. He brings significant aerospace experience spanning nearly 40 years. He spent 17 years with Triumph Group, Inc., a global company that designs, engineers, manufacturers, repairs and overhauls a broad portfolio of aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories, subassemblies and systems, as President and CEO and prior to that as President of the Aerospace Systems Group. He began his career at Frisby Aerospace, which was later acquired by Triumph. Mr. Frisby currently serves on the board of Quaker Chemical Corporation. He is a graduate of the Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
Warren C. Johnson
Warren C. Johnson was appointed a Director of the Company in 2016. He brings noteworthy aerospace experience from his 33-year career at Moog Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of precision control components and systems. He began his career as a Development Engineer and held various positions of increasing responsibility, leading Moog's efforts to streamline aerospace product development cycle time and lean activities. Mr. Johnson holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University. He completed a Sloan Fellows M.B.A. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Robert Keane
Robert Keane was appointed a Director of the Company in 2019. Mr. Keane founded Cimpress in 1995 and has grown the group to $2.75 billion in revenue with a market capitalization of $3.3 billion. Prior to Cimpress, he was employed for seven years by Astronics. He began his career in business management consulting. Mr. Keane is a graduate of Harvard College, where he earned his B.A. in economics, and INSEAD (France), where he earned his M.B.A. Mr. Keane is a son of the late Kevin Keane, former Chairman of Astronics.
Neil Kim
Neil Kim was appointed a Director of the Company in 2016. He was with Broadcom Corporation, a global leader and innovator in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, since 2000 and held progressively advanced positions of responsibility until its acquisition in January 2016. He retired as Executive Vice President, Operations and Central Engineering, and was responsible for the company's global manufacturing, including foundry operations, supply chain management and corporate procurement operations. Prior to Broadcom, he held a variety of senior technical, research and development engineering positions with Western Digital Corporation and Micropolis Corporation. Mr. Kim previously served as a director for the Global Semiconductor Alliance and currently is a member of the Board of Directors for Silicon Laboratories Inc., Signetics Korea and Korea Circuit Co. LTD. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mark Moran
Mark Moran was appointed a Director of the Company in 2018. He brings significant aerospace engineering and operations experience spanning nearly 40 years. He spent 17 years with Continental Airlines prior to its acquisition by United. During his tenure, which included eight years as the head of Operations, Continental grew to the fifth largest airline with 2,600 daily flights to over 260 airports. He retired from his position as Chief Operating Officer with Continental in 2012. Prior to that, Mr. Moran served ten years with USAir/Piedmont, and before that, five years with Boeing Corporation (NYSE: BA). He is a graduate of Marquette University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Linda O’Brien
Ms. O’Brien is Vice President and Chief Engineer at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, a position she has held since 2021. She was originally employed by Lockheed/General Dynamics from 1986 to 2006, rejoining the company in 2016. She has held a variety of positions including Program Management Director and Deputy Vice President of ISR and Unmanned Systems, Engineering Director- Deputy to the Vice President of Engineering and Technology and Engineering Director- Chief Engineer of Advanced Pilot Training. Prior to Lockheed, Ms. O’Brien was a Senior Program Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft Company and Director of Commercial Programs for Bell Helicopter Textron.
Ms. O’Brien holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. from Texas Christian University.
